Counselor's Corner

Welcome to SVH Counselor Corner! I’m excited to be the new counselor at SVH. I have been a teacher for eight years and this will be my first year as a counselor. Since my senior year of my undergraduate studies at Whitworth University, I have been driven by the goal to be the best version of myself so that I can be a part of a movement to reform education in positive ways. Each day, I strive to create an environment where every student is encouraged to develop educational and real-life skills that will help them be successful in their present and future endeavors. I believe that it is important, as a counselor, to advocate for all students no matter their race, ethnicity, gender, or skill level, so that they may be heard and respected by others. In addition, I also believe that it is imperative to involve and collaborate with all stakeholders in a student’s life because they interact and provide levels of support to the student daily. Finally, I stand true to the idea that all students should have the opportunity to a thought-provoking, applicable, and culturally relevant education, so that they may become global minded citizens who will make a positive impact on the world around them. Family is also extremely important to me. My husband, Jeff, works in the hospitality industry and we have a three year old son named Zeke. We love to camp, go to the lake, and spend time in San Diego, California with extended family.

I encourage students, parents/guardians, and community members to reach out to me with any questions and/or concerns they might have.
