InvestEd

InvestEd is an organization that provides money to Spokane Valley High for students with specific needs and lack the funds to fill that need. It helps fill the gap between what families can afford and what schools can support. The funds help students in need with shoes, ASB cards, glasses, school supplies, coats, or college application fees. Their philosophy is … “Little things can make a big difference in a student’s life.” Any SVH student who has a specific need and would benefit from InvestEd monies, should contact the SVH school guidance counselor.

Biology Class Partners with EWU

Our Biology class partnered with EWU to raise native wildflower seeds for their Palouse Prairie Restoration Project. We also researched the plants and made plaques to identify them. Although Covid prevented us from finishing all the plaques and their accompanying website, Sarah Hill at EWU was so impressed, she suggested that this project was a great model for collaboration that could be used in the future with other schools too. Kudos to all the SVH students who planted seeds and perfected their plaques – you’ve had another amazing impact on our community.

Visit: https://inside.ewu.edu/palouserestoration/ for the details on the overall project.
