The Phoenix Vision Branding Team spearheaded a tour for middle school students from WV City School.
On March 7th, the 8th grade students from West Valley City School came to Spokane Valley High to attend a project based class of their choice, tour the school, and meet staff and students. Half of the 8th graders attended the morning experience and the second half attended during the afternoon. All of them were here to enjoy a pizza lunch with the SVH community. Prior to the big day, students were asked to select a class that followed their interests. Classes were available in art, science, math, 3-D printing, greenhouse, and politics. Each student was given an SVH guidebook and asked to collect autographs from SVH staff/students. The student with the most autographs in each session was given a school T-shirt. As they boarded the bus, they were each given a swag bag full of goodies, including cookies with the school logo.
The City School students have been asked to complete a survey to provide input for the tour next year. Those results will be announced at a later date.
The leadership team stepped up to the plate, taking lead in many events of the day including the student tours. Without their help this day would not have run as smoothly as it did. Phoenix Experience is a new event; with it's success it will become an annual event.
